Jacqueline’s sister, Sharon, joins her in the kitchen to make their Norwegian family recipe. As the oldest and youngest siblings, they grew up in the same household, eating the same recipes but somehow, Jacqueline missed out on how to make the recipes, just like mama did.

Jacqueline is joined by Lori who shares her family’s favourite Christmas treat, peanut butter marshmallow squares, an easy recipe that is perfect for making with the grandchildren and enjoyed by all. After packaging up the squares, Jacqueline and Lori take them to the local Food Bank to share with the volunteers. The twenty or more volunteers busily working is a reminder of just how important the Food Bank is to a growing number of families in the community.

Jacqueline is joined by Callie who enjoys being in the kitchen and loves baking. For her family, there is one goodie that tops their list of Christmas favourites, butter tarts, the quintessential Canadian Christmas treat. Callie’s daughter-in-law is a first responder, so it was extra meaningful to be able to share the fresh butter tarts with the fire fighters at the local firehall, a small thank-you for their service. As it turned out, a crew was just returning from a call and were thrilled to receive the special treats.
